What's the best fictional book you have read so far this year?

I need some help deciding the next book I'm going to read on my beach holiday. Please inspire me by telling me more about why you enjoyed this book and why should everyone give it a go.

“And then there were none” by Agatha Christie is a pretty good read! It’s a pretty gripping mystery book that keeps you on your toes. It was written by the same author of the book “The Murder on the Orient Express” which has a movie adaptation.

'The Night Circus' by Erin Morgenstern! A circus that arrives without warning; duels between magicians; and everything else is left to your imagination :)

A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles is my current favorite for this year. Beach holiday read - maybe In Other Words by Jhumpa Lahiri 's memoir

The Quiet American by Graham Greene. Talks about the French colonialism in Vietnam but don’t worry you won’t be bogged down by the heavy details of a war novel. Reasonably fast paced, along with a relatable narrative voice. Definitely suitable as a holiday read.

If you like fantasy, I highly recommend Robin Hobb's books, starting with Assassin's Apprentice.
