With the artificial scarcity created in modern times, the outcome is that prices in the alternative/grey market rose even higher, from an already high price base. Vintage timepieces are different- it is an actual real scarcity created by the passage of time. These timepieces start from a low price base and has an higher upwards potential to appreciate. With the high modern day watch price tags, it is worthwhile to look backwards and consider these vintage timepieces. Many reasons as to why a collector would sell- for some is to reorganize their collection, for some is to raise funds for life events etc. One collector’s loss is another collector’s gain- this gives a chance for that valuable vintage timepiece to find another home :) and for the new collector, a hold of value and investment.
