Posting on the behalf of my friend : Very good condition 1997 Gibson Les Paul Classic. The difference between the older Les Paul Classic compared to the newer ones is that it has a historically correct ABR-1 vintage bridge and a smaller 50s style headstock. Guitar was originally Cherry Sunburst but has been totally refinished and relic in Goldtop by Master Luthier Luca Quacquarella. The back has been refinished brown in colour just like how a 1950s Goldtop should be. The Nitrocellulose used by Singapore based Italian Master Luthier Luca Quacquarella who did the refinish is more similar to vintage nitro finish rather than modern nitro finish that has too much plasticizer mixed into the nitro formula. There are no plasticizer or wood filler used at all. The finish is thin just like an old Les Paul guitar and it is beautifully reliced and aged. It is extremely resonant . The guitar plays, feels and even smells like an old vintage guitar. The refinish and relic job is as good as any expensive Gibson Custom Shop Les Pauls minus the tone killing plasticizers and wood filler. For those of you who's wondering who is Italian Master Luthier Luca Quacquarella, you can read more about him over here http://www.theguitarcolumn.com/2014/11/luthier-spotlight-luca-quacquarella.html?m=1 Sadly Luca is no longer building guitars or doing any refinishing jobs. He does an amazing job. These upgrades were added to the guitar : - Porter Pickups Custom Shop Anthem PAF Relic Aged Set. You can read more about it over here : http://www.porterpickups.com/products/pickups/humbucker-pickups/anthem-paf/ - Made In USA RS Guitarworks Capacitors - Emerson 500K Audio Taper Pots (Wired in 50s style) - Gibson Custom Shop R9 Plain Truss Rod Cover - The Original Hard Case Doesn't Work Anymore So Will Include An Epiphone Hard Case - Will Include A Brand New Pickguard (For those of you that don't really like the pickguard with the 1960 on it) Guitar is 20 years old and it's in a very good condition. No cracks or chips. Neck is in perfect shape, still has tons of fret life. As we know, Les Paul Classic models comes with ink stamp serial number. Due to the refinish job, the serial number could not be saved but you can still see faintly the first number which is the number 7, stating that the guitar is made in 1997. Looking to sell for $2600 slightly negotiable. No trades unless you have a Marshall AFD head or a Marshall YJM head. No reservation, first come, first served. Self collect at Khatib Yishun. Interested parties, feel free to private message me to discuss or ask for more pictures.
