Microsoft management does not appear to be committed to the "time away from work to have a life" view recommended by the author, as evidenced by all the jokes and comments about working before 8:00 a.m., many evenings a week, and late into the night. About the Author Julie Bick is a magna cum laude graduate of Cornell University, and a graduate of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. In 1990, she joined Microsoft, where she was a product manager for Microsoft World and Microsoft Office and then a group manager overseeing more than twenty CD-ROM products. As a group manager, she led her team to achieve a 100 percent revenue increase in a single year, and won the 1995 Leadership Award for the Consumer Division.
