FLORAL TEA (SUNDRIED BLUE PEA / BUTTERFLY PEA)
Our tea canisters filled with beautifully sundried blue pea / butterfly pea flowers are ready to be sent to orders we received. If you sent in your order and we could accommodate you almost immediately it means that must be your lucky day. Normally when an order is received, it'll take days or sometimes weeks before we could get the sundried flowers ready for you. No, it's not because we work slow but rather the laborious process from picking our organically grown flowers to sun drying and packing them. This is our assurance that you'll get the freshest from us. That is why we ask that you give us a little time. We can only guess but we can't exactly predict the weather. Even the Met department gets that wrong sometimes! :) What can be more exciting than a cup of floral tea especially when it's considered a superfood? Maybe a good book to go along with it! Now drinking tea is as simple as putting a few of these prized flowers into a cup of hot / warm water. You can add any sweetener of your choice or you can drink them au naturel with or without a dash of lime / lemon. Off course there's no stopping you from making a huge jar and sharing them around chilled or with lots of ice cubes. It is that refreshing but don't take our words for it. Try it yourself. This is the Clitoria Ternatea or more commonly known as Butterfly Pea or Blue Pea Flowers. Studies have shown that the blue pea / butterfly pea flowers have a pack of health benefits. They are rich in antioxidants (bye bye anti ageing) such as proanthocyanidin and anthocyanin which stop the harmful effects of free radicals. This in turn improves overall cell health by preventing pre-mature ageing, cutting the risk of cancer and other diseases. Proanthocyanidin is one of the most powerful antioxidants and able to increase collagen and elasticity in skin cells. (Read this ladies out there!) It also improves sharpness of vision, also night vision. Regular intake promotes healthy hair as it stimulates hair growth. According to Ayurvedic Medicine, Clitoria Ternatae has been used for centuries as a memory enhancer and this amazing flower also reduces stress and depression. Hummingbirds love them and I think you will too! In case you are new to these flowers, well they are also used as a natural food dye in cooking / baking. Besides that, the fresh flowers also add beauty and colour to a bowl of salad and if you're a foodie you can also dip them in batter and fry them tempura style. Now we pack these sundried goodness in a 400ml glass canister for prolonged freshness. Is that empty canister in the cover photo going to you next? Now with every order of two canisters, you get a dollar off so that'll be just $16.00 NB: Fresh blooms are also available. Potted seedlings / young plants are available upon prior request. Check our potted plants post. We also sell the seeds if you like to grow them yourselves. We have also added this floral drink (natural or with added lime / lemon juice and chia seeds) to what we have to offer.
