GARDENING - These Are The Joys I Get From Gardening
I do receive nice compliments about my plants from readers (THANK YOU VERY MUCH for those of you who came forward to say hello and send encouragements), but my journey is not as smooth as what you think. (FYI - I do not have perfect growing conditions as well). I do have failed germination - more like wrong methods rather than poor seeds - I kept researching, trial-and-errors, etc and found what I need to do to get it right ! I did killed a whole vertical wall of herbs - at least 20 pots of them (OUCH !) because of me moving them to an area that is not suitable for them and I had to start all over from seeds again. Now, they are back in the original position and my vertical wall of fresh herbs are flourishing and very useful in my daily preparation of our meals. I did make my plants sick sometimes by using very incorrect method of water or place them in incorrect positions of my garden. All I need to do is to go to Google and typed in the questions I need to find answers and read widely and kept evaluating my options back and forth and do a trial run. This is how I improved my own understanding, my skills and methodologies of gardening. I am sure you can too! I do not care much how long it takes to flower or fruit (this is something I don't Google about) as I know my growing conditions will be different from the writers of the articles I read. I just leave it as-is and let the seeds, seedlings and plants do the job themselves. Nevertheless, I will be faithfully giving my plants their very much needed nutrients on a regular basis. Although the end result we all want is to have a nice pot of freshly grown edibles. However, the journey is very important - a journey of researching, learning, evaluating, forming our own views on how to get it right, so that we can finally enjoy the fruits of our own labours - just like this pot of strawberry, which is starting to flower and fruit for me. Although painful at times, but these are the joys I derived from gardening ! So, if you didn't make it initially, don't fret ! Don't give up ! Keep learning and make it better with each trials ! You will get the hang of it ! This never-say-die attitude will be very useful in how we handle life as well ! Thanks for reading ! Take care & happy gardening !
