Thanks.### Liitokala Lii-202 vs Nitecore new i2 Which to buy? Latest Lii-202 or the new i2? Many are confused when they compare Liitokala Lii-202 with the Nitecore new i2. This is because many buyers as well as sellers thought that the new i2 is 1A charging current per slot which is not. Charging Current of Lii-202 : Very straight forward, just long press the Mode button for about 3 secs to select 0.5A or 1A charging current. The current set is applicable to both slots so if you set 1A, both slots will be charging at 1A. Of course like most chargers, users have to know when to use 1A or 0.5A charging current. For unkown rewrapped batteries like Ultrafire or similar type where one does not know the real capacity of batteries inside, best to use a lower charging current of 0.5A. Charging Current of new i2 : For the new i2, at any one time only 1 slot is 1A while the other is 0.5A charging current. This is how their Active Current Distribution works; - If both slots are set at 1A charging current : The left slot will charge at 1A first, the right slot on hold while left slot is charging. The right slot will charge at 0.5A when left is close to completion. Only when left slot is completed, the right slot charges at 1A. - If right slot is set at 1A charging current only. The right slot will charge at 1A first, while the left slot will be on hold. The left slot will charge at 0.5A when right slot is close to completion. Left slot will charge at 0.5A for small capacity battery (<1200mAh) when right slot finished charging. The left slot will charge at 1A for large capacity battery (1200mAh or > 12000mAh) when right slot is completed. So it's rather complicated to understand and remember for the users, and to simplify - Only 1 slot is charging at 1A and the other slot is 0.5A or 1A when the first slot finished charging. Or for both slots to be charging, both will be 0.5A charging current. Display of both chargers : As you can see, the wordings are clearly printed on the Lii-202 compared to the new i2. Also the percentage charged status for Lii-202 is in 4 steps 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% while the i2 is in 3 steps of 30%, 80% and 100%. Other Differences : he Lii-202 charger can be used as a powerbank as it has a USB output of 5V while the i2 does not. Also both chargers support most types of batteries. Though the i2 comes with the 12V wall adapter while the Lii-202 is a USB powered adapter but the price for Lii-202 is S$18 ($22 with 5V2A power adapter) while the i2 is S$24. Conclusion : Both the Liitokala Lii-202 and Nitecore new i2 are great chargers but due to the above differences, I am sure most buyers are clear on which to choose.
