Marriage Takes More Than Love by Jack Mayhall Very Good Condition, Clean, Unmarked, foxed. Description - WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A MARRIAGE WORK? Marriage takes more than love. It sounds straightforward and simple. But what more exactly do you need? In Marriage Takes More Than Love, Jack and Carole Mayhall share a multitude of things they’ve found that are vital to a good marriage-a solid foundation in God, open and honest communication, a clear definition of roles and responsibilities, exciting sex, and more. The difference between smooth sailing and shipwrecks in marriage lies in what couples do about rough weather. All marriages have strengths and weaknesses. All marriages are either dynamic or deteriorating. The husband-wife combo must either progress or perish. A strong marriage is built by making good choices. In a his-and-hers style, the Mayhalls show readers how to make the kind of choices in marriage that look out for the best interests of all three parties involved-you, your spouse, and God. Amazon Book Reviews - 1) Great marriage book - By coppermoses Since it was first published, and we read it in 1976, it helped change our lives and taught various aspects of marriage unknown to us. I have since given many away to couples, individuals and have used it to teach 8 week marriage classes. I have never heard a negative thing about it, rather have had very positive responses to it. Used it in marital counselling. It is the primary book I use to help couples get a picture of marriage and the various aspects that are key to healthy marriage. It is easy to read, to understand, relate to, and full of important information. I will always use it as my first book of introduction for couples in understanding and learning about marriage. It is without a doubt a 5 Star + book....Highly recommend it. 2) Highly recommended! - By Phoebe I read this book before I got married. This is one of the best marriage book that I have ever read (And I read a lot of them :)). Mostly because my husband's character and personality is similar to Mr. Mayhall (discipline, perfectionist, detail oriented, introvert) while mine is similar to Mrs Mayhall (people oriented, flexible, and unorganized). This book has helped us to celebrate our differences; appreciate, respect, complement, and learn from each other. 3) A MUST READ FOR ANYONE ENTERING MARRIAGE! - By Carole Williamson I cannot count the number of copies of this book I have gifted to people over the years...it's MANY! I have always liked the fact that both the husband and the wife contribute chapters in it, thereby giving a balanced view of what a successful, fulfilling marriage looks like. My own Daughter and Son-in-law read it together the summer before they married....they 'hit' 25 years last summer! If a person's marriage needs tweaking, this is a good read also....cannot recommend it highly enough!!
