Lapis Lazuli crystal rough semi-polished specimen slab For centuries, Lapis Lazuli is one of the most sought after stones in use. Its deep, celestial blue is the symbol of royalty and honor, gods and power, spirit and vision. It is a universal symbol of wisdom and truth. The use of lapis lazuli goes back to ancient times. This beautiful stone has been a favorite of both mystics, as well as royal families. It was most revered because of its protective nature against negative influences and as well as the beautiful color and the valuable ultramarine streaks. Lapis has been mentioned in the Old Testament, held in the highest regard by the Egyptians, the Persians, Greeks and Romans. The golden sarcophagus of King Tutankhamen was richly inlaid with Lapis, as were other burial ornaments of Egyptian kings and queens. It was used extensively in scarabs, pendants and other jewelry, and ground into powder for dyes, eye shadow and medicinal elixirs. In ancient Persia and pre-Columbian America, Lapis Lazuli was a symbol of the starry night, and a favorite stone of the Islamic Orient for protection from the evil eye. Lapis was also used in Greek and Roman times as an ornamental stone, and in medieval Europe, Lapis Lazuli, resembling the blue of the heavens, was believed to counteract the wiles of the spirits of darkness and procure the aid and favor of the spirits of light and wisdom. Ground and processed into powder, it produced the intense, but expensive, ultramarine color favored by the painter, Michelangelo. Buddhists recommended Lapis as a stone to bring inner peace and freedom from negative thought, and during the Renaissance, Catherine the Great adorned an entire room in her palace with Lapis Lazuli walls, fireplaces, doors and mirror frames. A stone of truth, Lapis encourages honesty of the spirit, and in the spoken and written word. Wear it for all forms of deep communication. It is also a stone of friendship and brings harmony in relationships. A Lapis grid brings calm and loving communication for a home with temperamental teenagers, or children with Asperger's syndrome, autism, or attention-deficit disorder. In the workplace, it attracts promotion, success and lasting recognition in your field. Among the many properties ascribed to lapis lazuli are the energy of deep calm and a strong connection to cosmic wisdom. A connection that helps one align with a universal quality of truth and integrity. The water element color of the stone helps purify lower energies from one's body and align it with higher, healthier vibrations. The energy of lapis lazuli can also help a person become more aware of, and consequently easily access and express his or her own truth. In feng shui, lapis lazuli is used for many purposes. The speckles of gold in it is a symbol of wealth & abundance. The deep blue color can bring protective energies to one's home, as well as help neutralize negative energies present in the family. The energy of lapis lazuli is also used as a health cure. And lastly, lapis lazuli is used to enhance the success in studies (for children) or business success and career advancement. It also carries the wisdom of deep, pure and powerful waters with a stillness and calm that can negate most negative influences in one's life and the environment. Lapis lazuli spheres and tumbled stones are relatively easy to find. You can also sometimes find it in its rough (unpolished) form. Most importantly, choose a form that speaks to you the most. Colour-wise, a deeper blue of lapis lazuli will be more powerful (and more expensive). Lapis lazuli activates a life of more intelligence, success, and an unshakable inner balance and power that is rooted in ancient connections. It’s ideal to place a small piece of Lapis on the office table or home table. A small piece can also be put under the pillow or near the bed. This is one of our favourite crystals and we used to have more than 20 pieces in our private collection. But most has been sold to make way for the twins babies 😂 😂 😂 8.5cm by 5cm 230g
