My review: I came across this book when I was reading up on Marcus Aurelius' Meditations. I was interested to see how philosophy could become a practical way of living and of dealing with day-to-day problems we face in the modern world. Fortunately, this book is big on that. Instead of taking a purely philosophical view of life, author Jules Evans applies the concepts to real-life situations--"street philosophy", he calls it. He puts forward the idea that with ancient philosophy, one can approach depression, quality of life, self-esteem, and happiness from a refreshing AND sustainable perspective. The book is divided into a series of "workshops" (chapters) which readers are invited to "attend" over the course of a day.
