Purple Sprouting Broccoli (Brassica Oleracea) - English heirloom bred for overwintering. Tall and proliffic it grows slowly through winter and sprouts in spring. Sets beautiful, bright purple florets that are great addition to the garden, as well as to daily meals. When matured heads are 3-5in (7-12cm) in diameter. Extremely hardy, tolerating temp.as low as -12C. Posses mild, sweet and delicate flavour. Harvest in 70 days.
Growing: Not suitable for tropical climate. Planting season: Mid-April to mid-May, starting the seeds indoor into small pots or multi-cell trays; Sun exposure: Full Sun; Soil: good multi-purpose, slightly loamy, well draining, rich in organic matter soil; Transplant when plants are 2-3in (7-9cm) tall; Spacing: 19-23in (50-60cm); Spacing between rows: same. Moisture:good, regular watering.
