Rare IWC Vintage Cal 62
Movement: Mechanical, hand-wound Calibre: IWC c. 62 Year produced: 1943 Case / Diameter: Steel / 35 mm (excluding crown), with lovely "tear-drop" lugs Strap: 2 brand new unworn aftermarket 18mm straps (black and brown) Overall condition: 8.5/10 and keeping time well Selling this gorgeous and classic IWC vintage piece from my personal collection. A rare cal. 62 movement produced in 1943. The movement and case numbers are consistent with IWC archives. - IWC Calibre 62 - The cal 62 was more or less a smaller IWC cal 83, which along with the later cal. 88 were IWC's primary wristwatch movement with a seconds sub-dial. The total number of cal. 62 movements produced from 1938 through 1949 was 13,800 pieces, which is a very small production number compared to the other calibers made by IWC. It is rare to come across a cal 62 these days, compared to the more common 83s and 88s. Like the cal 89, the 62 is a good and sturdy construction and crafted very well. This is a highly collectible piece in good overall condition with a beautifully aged patina (almost NOS), lovely tear-drop lugs, and keeping time well.
