For your consideration: Very rare & highly-coveted 1st Generation “DIASHOCK” vintage 44GS 4420-9000 in pristine condition. All original condition & recently overhauled - keeping good time. Especially rare also because the watch comes with the original (1) tang buckle (note: this model’s buckle was designed to simply state ‘SEIKO’); (2) glossy black leather strap; & (3) Paulownia wooden box with intact inner mini-rectangular padding to support/showcase the watch. [Featured vintage burgundy perlon & brown leather straps not included]. A grail model, discreet elegance at its best. One of the most iconic Seiko models ever produced, its minimalist dial & elegant sharp angular features based on Taro Tanaka's 'Grammar of Design' serve as an inspiration for all modern Grand Seiko timepieces. Seiko produced the SBGW047 (in 2013), an exact visual copy of this historically significant model - as a limited edition of 700 to celebrate 100 years of watchmaking. Condition of key features: - Robust & accurate 4420B movement with hacking function (recently overhauled). - Very clean dial. - Dial code at 6 o'clock “JAPAN 4420-9000R AD” is very clear and crisp. - Original Zaratsu finish is still present in every aspect of the watch. - The mirror-like markers are multifaceted and allow for the play of light and shadow. - Hands are in very good condition and very clean. - Super mint crystal. - Bezel has only very minor hairline scratches. - Tang buckle, glossy black leather strap & Paulownia wooden box (with intact inner mini-rectangular padding) in super mint condition. Good investment piece, especially in the context of steadily growing interest in Grand Seiko watches & GS’ rebranding efforts: the Seiko logo is now removed from the dial of GS watches. Own a 50+ years old piece of horological history @ an affordable price. Current prices in similar condition hover around USD $4K (~S$5400) - without original buckle, strap & box with inner mini-rectangular padding intact. Slight nego. for sincere buyers. Buzz if keen!
