Hayford, founding pastor, The Church On The Way Amazon Book Reviews - 1) Scripture rich treatise on the Christian's identity in Christ - By Amazon Customer While going deep, this book is written at a level that is easy to understand. Neal T. Anderson interprets scripture in light of scripture and encourages the believer to know who they are in Christ, attributing much of our struggle with sin, unfruitfulness, and areas of bondage to a misplaced notion that we must strive for the things that God has already granted us through the cross and resurrection. He handles all discussion of the demonic from the place of the believer's authority as a child of God; this glorifies God and not the enemy, and need not be scary. This book challenged me to allow God to transform me by renewing my mind to the truth that I am fully accepted, secure, and have purpose in Christ. I also loved Neil T.'s take on discipleship counselling, and think it would be a boon to our churches-- sound doctrine personally applied to real lives, does it get any better? 2) Every Christian Should Read This Book!! - By His princess Excellent Book! I have been in a season of fear and worry after being a Christian for 7 years, and Victory Over Darkness was recommended by so many other fellow believers to help me figure out what is going on. This book is like a counselling-type read: sometimes it was painful to read as God opened my eyes to areas of my life that are not in line with His will, but afterward I always had so much healing occur. Also, Anderson gives many practical tools to use for every day life as we struggle through stuff in this broken world. I wish I would have read this when I first became a Christian! Also, Bondage Breaker is the second book to read after this and I just began reading this one--I know it will have a huge impact just like this book has had. 3) Outstanding - By EG For years I have searched for answers and understanding through numerous Christian books. More knowledge but little fruit in my life and I never understood why. This book has blown me away. Every chapter brought clarity and understanding to who I am in Christ and has equipped me to actually grow in my faith. I have been a believer for many years but it turns out, I've had a rather faulty belief system and this book, through his explanation of many, many scripture references, has opened a whole new view of who God is and who I am. For the first time, I do not feel like I need to find another book but I am excited to LIVE for Christ. If there is one book needed for your Christian faith-in addition to the bible-this is the book. I cannot give this book enough praise for its impact.
