Want To Get Into SOTA?
Hi everyone! My name is Rachel and if you or your child is looking to get into SOTA through Theatre please continue reading. In this highly competitive era where SOTA picks 1 out of 5 students, you would want to get a higher chance of getting in. I graduated with the highest score of 7/7 for HL Theatre and have taught many students about theatre, acting, auditions, and many more. Lessons will be 1 hour at $80/hour I will go over to your place (not a lot of space is required as it is an individual lesson) What you will learn: 1. How to prepare for a SOTA audition. It’s not just about talking and merely saying things about yourself, it’s all about confidence and expression! 2. Basic theatre skills. In theatre there’s so much more than acting, it’s about gestures, body language, voice, and so much more. 3. How to deepen and grow these skills. Once the foundation is done, you will learn how to better and develop the lessons learnt. 4. Recite and perform a monologue. For shortlisted applicants, a monologue is required during the audition phase. It is a memorised performative piece which needs you to know how to act it out. 5. Lastly, how to showcase their skills to the judges. It’s all about practice, practice, and practice. We will do our best together and prepare to show what your full potential is! Don’t be afraid to prepare for the next round of applications next year in April! :) ————————————————————————— Education & Achievements 2005-2009 Grace’s Speech & Drama - Grade 1 Speech & Drama (DISTINCTION) - Grade 1 Musical Theatre (DISTINCTION) - Grade 5 Group Performance (DISTINCTION) 2009-2014 School Of The Arts Singapore - Mother Courage & Her Children (Director) - Arts Overseas Program - Philippines - Medea (Main Lead) - IB Diploma HL Theatre 7/7 2015-2018 Nanyang Technological University - Major in Psychology - Minor in Drama and Performance Theatre Teaching Experience 2014 Ad Hoc Theatre Teacher 2015 Grace’s Speech & Drama (Intern & Teacher)
