For Car: Answer: Rejoice! LTA will be extending the periodic inspections deadline for private vehicles by 6 months, for private cars that are due for inspection within the circuit breaker period or within three weeks from the end of the circuit breaker period (i.e. between 2 June and 21 June 2020, both dates inclusive). That means, if your car is due for inspection between 7 April 2020 and 21 June 2020, your car inspection deadline is time-extended! You’ll be allowed to renew your road tax for 6 months as long as you have valid insurance coverage. If you need to go for seal inspection of an off-peak car (OPC), it will be waived during this period. After the circuit-breaker lifts, OPCs will need to pass an annual seal inspection before they can renew their road tax. For Motorbike: Answer: Sorry, you are still required to go for periodic inspections. All other vehicles, such as goods vehicles, buses, taxis and private-hire cars, are still required to go for periodic inspections. Authorised Inspection Centres will remain open to facilitate these inspections. Updated: 29 Apr 2020
