What to Expect the First Year – Sandee Hathaway; Arlene Eisenberg; Heidi Murkoff
Top Customer Reviews 5.0 out of 5 starsGood book to have on hand ByElizabeth Creweon January 20, 2017 There is a lot of helpful information in this book. I have been able to read up on nursing, bathing, bottles, sleeping and lots more! If you want a guide on how to go through each trimester and what to expect, then this book is for you. You must take these Vitamiss Prenatal - Optimal Women's Supplement for Healthy Pre and Post Pregnancy! if you are expecting or planning on conceiving. These are once a day vitamins, and are generally pretty easy on the stomach. They have everything I want, so honestly I still use them even though my son is almost 3. They are not too large, and taking them right before bed works best for me. 5.0 out of 5 starsMet my expectations!! ByAmazon Customeron July 21, 2016 This book has been a blessing for me. I am starting over being a new mom again after 18 years since my last pregnancy and it has eased my anxiety with how much things have changed over the years. Great book! Not what i was expecting but still a great buy! Bypoizonivyon September 12, 2016 When I initially purchased this I was looking for a "What to Expect" book and journal combo. This isn't what I was expecting but it is still great. There are lots of facts, tips, and advice for moms to be. I had previously read the most current (at the time) what to expect book. I highly recommend purchasing the book along with this journal. Especially if this is your first pregnancy! It is great being able to record things about your pregnancy that you can look back on later. This was really helpful to me! I had one for each of my pregnancies. 5.0 out of 5 starsGreat Reference Book ByValerie, Ohioon September 15, 2013 I read what to expect when you are expecting and thought it was the greatest pregnancy book ever. It was right on with all the things I was experiencing and explained all the things I had fears or concerns about and helped me to be more excited about the whole pregnancy. I was not disappointed with this book. It was just as good at helping me understand my baby's needs and why he was doing certain things and when. I would never have realized that by trying to sooth my son with every idea people threw my way when he was fussy, I was overdoing it and 'over stimulating' him. After a couple of really bad eveings, and some desperate reading, I found that by going from one trick to another it was working against the very effect I was going for. The book suggested just sticking to one thing that worked in the past like rocking and waiting it out for a while and to not give up on myself or my baby so quickly and move on to anther idea. This book helped me realized that everything I found to be frustrating or scary was perfectly normal and even better, my feeling frustrated or scared was a very normal feeling felt by most moms. If you ever think that maybe your not cutting it as a mom - and most new moms will from time to time - read this book and find that you are doing just fine! 5.0 out of 5 starsI would recommend this journal/organizer over all others!! Love it!! ByK. Gambleon September 18, 2015 I had this same journal with my first child and loved it so much that when I got pregnant again I had to get the same one! It has space for you to write a little for every day of your pregnancy, plus lots of extras to help stay organized, doctor info, weight tracker, food journal, check list of what you may want to purchase, baby shower list, and the list goes on... if you need it it's in there!! I don't use all that is offered in the book, but compared to what is sold in the stores, this one was always my favorite, mostly because it allowed me to have space to write in it every day if I wanted to use all the other extras they are available, and all my information was in one place! Plus there are little exerts from the book along through the journal that line up with your pregnancy, so that is nice too! 5.0 out of 5 starsHandbook for New Parents! ByMikeon January 9, 2017 This book is a must have for any new parents! My mom bought this book for us and it has been a lifesaver! I love how the book is laid out by month and gives you an insight on what to expect during that month. Babies don't come with handbooks but this is a close second! In the future I will buy this book for all expecting parents! 4.0 out of 5 starsThis book can be your go-to source and that's why I would recommend it. ByBontroon March 31, 2015 What is frustrating about baby advice is that there is so much of it out there. Between your coworkers, friends, family, and the Internet, everyone has "expert" advice for you. Clearly, there is a need to have a go-to source for questions and information, short of calling a pediatrician all the time. This book can be your go-to source and that's why I would recommend it. The good news is that there is a wide variety of subjects covered, helpful descriptions, and important facts. We consistently refer to this book in an attempt to distill good advice from bad advice. And, anybody who has been stuck in the Internet vortex of baby advice knows the feeling I'm talking about. And, this book is definitely more helpful and comprehensive than the vortex. However, this book is also frustrating to me. First, I find that the book suffers from some organizational issues. It's relatively minor since you can use the index to hone in on what you're looking for. Still, I find myself hunting around for information and never having a great idea where I'll find the relevant information. Second, I have been frustrated with some parts that I have found too anecdotal or, in my mind, contradictory. I realize this is probably the result of babies, by their nature, being confusing and not fully understood. Overall, I recommend this book. https://www.amazon.com/What-Expect-First-ARLENE-EISENBERG/dp/0684817888/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1486116566&sr=1-1&keywords=What+to+Expect+the+First+Year+1996 Consigned item sold "As Is/ Where Is" with no guarantees, warranties, refunds or exchanges.
